Senator GARDINER (New South Wales) . - Are spices being so considerably manufactured in Australia as to warrant such impositions of duty as 2d. and 4d. per lb.?

Senator Russell - We are importing a quantity of spice, and grinding it here, which provides a good deal of employment.
