The CHAIRMAN - The honorable senator will not be in order in so doing. The definition clause will come up for consideration al a later stage.

Senator Pearce - I assure the honorable senator that the clauses between this and clause 53, which is the actual pivotal clause, are practically all of a machinery character, and have been, copied from the Defence Act.

Senator PRATTEN (NEW SOUTH WALES) - In view- of the assurance of the Minister, and perceiving that my opportunity will come when the Committee is discussing clause 53, I shall not pursue my objection at this stage.

Clause agreed to.

Clause 28 agreed to.

Clause 29 -

1.   The Citizen Air Force shall consist of the Active Citizen Air Force and the Air Force Reserve.

2.   The Active Citizen Air Force shall consist of officers and airmen who are not bound in time of peace to continuous air service, and who are paid for their services as proscribed, and of persons who are liable under Part XII. of the Defence Act to be trained in the Citizen Forces, and who volunteer for service in the Citizen Air Force, are selected by the Air Board, and are allotted or transferred to the Citizen Air Force.
