Senator PEARCE (Western Australia) (Minister for Defence) . - The word " disrate " is applicable to the Navy and the word "discharge" to the Army. Section 112 of the principal Act was amended in 1918 by the insertion of the words "not serving under Part XII. of this Act." That amendment was made in order to bring the section into conformity with the provisions of Part XII., under which persons arc liable to compulsory training. The amendment went further than was intended, and this clause represents merely a drafting provision to make the necessary correction.
