Senator E D MILLEN (NEW SOUTH WALES) - I move-

Thatstanding order No. 68 be suspended up to and including Friday, the 13th inst., for the purpose of enabling new business to be commenced after half-past 10 o'clock at night.

Senator PRATTEN (NEW SOUTH WALES) - The only thing that troubles me in connexion with the motion is what is involved in the term "new business. ' '

Senator E D MILLEN (NEW SOUTH WALES) - It does not imply any intention to bring in. business other than that which is now on the business paper of the Senate. The purpose of the suspension of the standing order is to enable us, should it be necessary, to take up, for instance, the consideration of the second order of the day on the business paper after half -past 10 o'clock at night..

Question resolved in the affirmative.
