Senator O'KEEFE (TASMANIA) asked the Minister representing the Minister of Trade and Customs, upon notice -

1.   Are quarantine officials on guard continuously, day and night, at all bridges crossing the Murray River between Victoria and New South Wales, to take names and addresses of persons passing from New South Wales to Victoria ?

2.   Is any useful purpose served by continuing to employ officials at Albury railway station to take names and addresses of persons passing from New South Wales to Victoria by train?
