Mr Donald Cameron (GRIFFITH, QUEENSLAND) -I make reference to a misrepresentation in today's Australian. I do not claim that it was done with malice or anything like that, but there is an article in that newspaper which refers to the Fraser Island mining issue and which names supporters of the Federal Government who, it claims, were opposed to the decision on Fraser Island mining. The article suggests that I was opposed to the decision. It purports to be a report of the Party room meeting. I want to make it plain that I simply mentioned that there was a need for compensation where possible. But, unpopular as the decision may be in some parts of Queensland, I can only admit to endorsing the decision which was made by the Cabinet and the Government.
