Mr SPEAKER -I ask honourable members to accompany me to the Library to present myself to His Excellency, the Administrator, when honourable members may if they wish be introduced to His Excellency.

Mr Sinclair - Mr Speaker,on a point of order, I draw your attention to standing order 12 (p) which requires the presentation of members to His Excellency the Governor-General. My understanding of the Acts Interpretation Act is that it refers only to the Acts of the Parliament and there is no provision under the Standing Orders for this Parliament to resume until honourable members have been introduced to the Governor-General himself.

Mr SPEAKER -To my knowledge the Administrator, acting for the Governor-General, exercises all of the powers that the GovernorGeneral exercises. (Mr Speaker and honourable members having proceeded to the Library and having returned).
