Mr OLLEY (HUME, NEW SOUTH WALES) - Is the Minister representing the Minister for Primary Industry aware of reports in the 'Sydney Morning Herald' and the Melbourne 'Sun' today indicating that the President of the Australian Farmers Federation has criticised the Australian Country

Party for its opposition to the Industries Assistance Commission Bill saying that the public should not be deluded that the Country Party was a champion of rural industry? Did Mr Hogan request a minor amendment to the Bill and, if so, will the Minister seek to have this proposal investigated?

Dr PATTERSON - I am not aware of the Press reports but if what the honourable member says is correct all I can say is that I completely endorse the criticism of the Country Party. I assure honourable members that I will be looking closely at these remarks and the proposition will be put into effect straight away.
