Mr HUGHES - I will answer the question asked by the Leader of the Opposition in this way: I do not propose to give any opinion as to whether Mr Burchett has broken any law of the Commonwealth. What I will say, however, is that I, as the principal law officer of the Crown, do not propose, as at present advised, to bring any charges against him in respect of-


Mr HUGHES - I note the kindly interest of the honourable member for Lalor in Mr Burchett, and no doubt the public will be interested to note it. I do not propose to bring any charges. It is proper that I should say that in answer to the question asked by the Leader of the Opposition.
