Mr McMAHON - No Commonwealth Government has done more than this one to assist education in Australia. We will willingly give the Opposition every opportunity it wants to debate the subject of education, should it want to do so. As to the question asked by the honorable member, I have great sympathy for people who wish to educate their children in independent schools. I thought it was contrary to the policy of the Australian Labour Party to support such proposals; nonetheless, during the course of the Budget examination and discussions I will look at the question and the decision will be announced in the Budget itself.
