Mr BUCHANAN (MCMILLAN, VICTORIA) - (My question is directed to the Minister for Primary Industry. In his reply to the honorable member for Flinders a few moments ago, he implied that the growers had made representations regarding both the membership of the Australian Apple and Pear Board and the levy. Is the Minister aware that, although the Australian Apple and Pear Growers' Association met only last Wednesday, the day on which the bill to implement this proposal was brought into the House, none of the delegates was aware of the proposal to increase Tasmania's membership until after he had received the Minister's second-reading speech? In view of the fact that the Government's policy has always been to discuss such matters with the industry before making any change, will the Minister consider holding the legislation over pending discussion with mainland growers?
