Mr THORBY (Calare) .- Whilst I attach a good deal of importance to the retention of private members' day, I do not intend to oppose the motion before the Chair, for the simple reason that I appreciate the importance of the matters on the business-paper, and I realize that it is the desire of the Government to endeavour to conclude the present sittings within a reasonable time, possibly by the 9th June. I am prepared to support the motion on that understanding, fully realizing at the same time, that no other opportunity will be provided for the discussion of private members' business before the termination of this sessional period.
