Mr Green n asked the Minister representing the Minister for Commerce. upon notice -

1.   As there is wide distress among the wheat-farmers of the Commonwealth, due to world prices for wheat being for the greater part of this season 50 per cent. below the cost of production, will he immediately take into consideration the question of removing at the earliest date possible, the uneconomic and parlous position of Australian wheat-growers, by arranging a stabilized price for wheat?

2.   Will he communicate, at an early date, with the State Premiers on the matter?

Sir Frederick Stewart - The position of the wheat industry is receiving the careful consideration of the Government at the present time.
