Mr CHARLTON (Hunter) .- The Treasurer has told us that the appropriation is to be in accordance with the suggestion made by the honorable member for Fawkner (Mr. Maxwell). Nothwithstanding a consensus of opinion in the Committee in favour of the period being made twenty years, the Minister says that he cannot agree to that because to do so would increase the amount of the appropriation. The excuse is too thin altogether. The. Treasurer can accept the amendment if he wants to.
