Mr MATHEWS (Melbourne Ports) . - The seamen hold a totally different view. They consider that they will be placed at a distinct disadvantage. It really resolves itself into a question of whether men working on a ship shall be considered or not, and they are emphatic on the matter.

Mr GREENE (RICHMOND, NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for Trade and Customs) - I am sure the carpenters are not.

Mr MATHEWS - The men's representatives are anxious that the carpenters and shipwrights shall be placed in the same position.
