Mr GROOM (Darling Downs) (Minister of Home Affairs) . - Plans had been prepared, and everything was in readiness, when a request came for an alteration in the armament of the proposed fort. Nothing further was therefore done, pending the report of the Imperial Defence Committee, which is now under consideration, having come to hand only a short time since. As soon as the Department arrives at a decision, the matter will be proceeded with.
