The following petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators indicated, were received: Senator Sir John Carrick, from 11 petitioners praying that the Family Law Act and the Marriage Act be amended to strengthen the institution of marriage.

Senators Watson, Collard, Sir John Carrick and Jessop, from 191, 18, 10 and 120 petitioners, respectively, praying that the United Nations Convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women be not ratified.

Senator Mason, from 690 petitioners praying that the Senate request the Government to communicate to the Government of the USSR the wish of the petitioners that the Church of Mary Queen of Peace be restored to the Catholics of Klaipeda.
