To the Honourable President and Members of the Senate in Parliament assembled.

The petitioners ask the Senate to call on the Government to ensure:

1.The adherence to the Anti-discrimination provisions, particularly on the basis of sexual preference, sex, race, colour, national extractions or social origin contained within the Industrial Relations Reform Act (IRRA) (1993), to ensure.

(a)That all workers receive equal treatment in the terms and conditions of their employment under the authority of ILO 111—Article 1(3).

(b)The Federal Industrial Relations Minister's responsibility in ensuring that the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) abide by its Section 3(g) of Industrial Relation Reform Act 1993, (which effectively compels the IRC, in the performance of all their functions, to help prevent and eliminate discrimination on various grounds, including those of sexual preference, sex, race, colour, national extraction or social origin) when considering applications made for carer's leave (family responsibility leave).

2.To ensure that the Government actively advocates a definition of carer's leave (family responsibility leave) which covers all workers regardless of their sexual orientation, gender preferred identity, sex, race and colour.
