To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in the Parliament assembled. The petition of certain citizens of Victoria respectfully showeth:

That the Hawke Government's proposal for an Australian Identity Card is the greatest intrusion into individual privacy ever contemplated by any Government in the history of Australia.

Your petitioners humbly pray the Government withdraws the Australia Card legislation without delay.
