Senator WALTERS(11.13) —Has the old one been withdrawn? Have the teachers been told that it is no longer acceptable and that a new one is coming up, and has the Commission withdrawn it from the schools? I also ask the Minister whether he can please let me know what dreadful costs there are in the trialling of this within classrooms. I gather, because it is kindergarten and first grade, that it is done within school hours. I gather that it is, therefore, done within the school curriculum. I ask the Minister: What $1,000 or $500 costs to individual teachers could possibly be associated with the trialling of this sort of thing within the classrooms of our little five- and six-year-olds? If there is any cost, would teachers be able to get it off their tax; would it be a tax deduction? The Minister says that, if there is a little left over, it is small recompense to the teachers who are carrying out, within school hours, this indoctrination of the children.
