Senator CHANEY (Leader of the Opposition)(10.48) —I am a little disappointed by those last remarks of the Minister. I understood from the Minister that he was prepared to make an amendment to pick up the recommendation. There is an easy precedent in section 48 of the Acts Interpretation Act. I would have thought the Government, in relation to sub-clause (2), which presently reads: 'The Minister shall forthwith cause to be published in the Gazette particulars of any directions given under sub-section (1) and of any revocation of any such directions', could simply add the following words: 'and shall ensure that such direction be laid before each House of the Parliament within 15 sitting days after the making of the regulations'. But I will move that amendment when we have disposed of my first amendment.
