Senator BOSWELL —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate-

(1) notes with regret that members of certain unions affiliated with the Australian Council of Trade Unions are refusing to handle freight travelling into or out of the State of Queensland for the next 48 hours;

(2) condemns this latest display of industrial thuggery and attempted intimidation of the State and its people; and

(3) condemns the Federal Government for failing to protect the people of Queensland because of its refusal to exercise its legal responsibilities under section 45D of the Trade Practices Act, which outlaws secondary boycotts.
