To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled. The petition of the undersigned citizens respectfully showeth:

That we strongly oppose the 'A.C.T. Smoking and Tobacco Products Advertisements Prohibition Bill' introduced by Senator Jack Evans, because it will adversely affect sporting organisations and small businesses in the A.C.T., it reverses the onus of proof, and represents an unnecessary intrusion by Government into the private affairs of individuals and other groups.

Your petitioners most humbly pray that the Senate, in Parliament assembled, should reject this bill.

And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
