Senator BUTTON (Leader of the Government in the Senate) —I inform the Senate that the Prime Minister (Mr Hawke) left for Canada this morning.

Opposition senators-Hooray!

Senator BUTTON —If I might interpolate, the Canadian Prime Minister informed me last week that the people of Canada were very much looking forward to our Prime Minister's visit. The Prime Minister will return on the night of Monday, 25 March. In his absence the Deputy Prime Minister and Attorney-General, Mr Lionel Bowen, will be Acting Prime Minister.
