Senator RYAN (Minister for Education)(10.53) —Both Senator Rae and Senator Aulich raised matters concerning facilities which they are recommending to become part of the Institute of Sport. In particular, Senator Rae referred to the velodrome and to the Lake Barrington rowing course. Senator Aulich also commented on these matters and pointed out the Commonwealth's source of the funds of many of these projects. I will ensure that the remarks of Senator Rae and Senator Aulich on this matter are conveyed to my colleague the Minister for Sport, Recreation and Tourism, John Brown. Senator Archer made some comments about extensions to Wynyard Airport in Tasmania. Indeed, as he warned us he would, he asked a question relating to that proposed project. On behalf of Senator Gietzelt, the Minister for Veterans' Affairs, who was not able to be present during the adjournment debate this evening, I advise Senator Archer that Senator Gietzelt has undertaken to get from the Department of Aviation details of the problem referred to in Senator Archer's question, and he should be in a position to respond to Senator Archer's question tomorrow.

Question resolved in the affirmative.

Senate adjourned at 10.55 p.m.
