Senator MASON(10.19) —I move:

At end of motion, add ', but the Senate is of the opinion that Australian troops should not be sent overseas in a war or in a peace-keeping role without the consent of both Houses of the Commonwealth Parliament'.

Question resolved in the negative.

Senator Mason —I ask that the names of the three Australian Democrats-Senator Chipp, Senator Jack Evans and me-be recorded in the Journals of the Senate as voting for the amendment.

The PRESIDENT —That will be done.
