Senator CHANEY (Leader of the Opposition) —Unless Senator Tate indicates that it is not necessary and that the matter can satisfactorily be dealt with tomorrow I would be prepared to move that so much of the Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent Senator Tate moving a motion relating to an extension of time for the Senate Select Committee on Allegations concerning a Judge to sit.

The PRESIDENT —Do I take it that you are not moving that motion at this stage?

Senator CHANEY —I ask Senator Tate to indicate whether he can deal with the matter in the morning satisfactorily for the Committee.

The PRESIDENT —Senator Tate, do you wish to respond to that matter?
