Senator TOWNLEY —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate-

(a) aware of the huge debt being built up by Australia due to successive large deficits;

(b) bearing in mind that that debt will one day have to be repaid by the youth of this country; and

(c) convinced that the only way that the National Debt will be reduced is by increasing taxation,

calls on the Government to stop spending money on unnecessary projects and requests the Government under no circumstances to implement a tax on assets, as has been suggested will happen in 1985.
