(Question No. 1085)


Senator Bolkus asked the Minister representing the Minister for Housing and Construction, upon notice, on 24 August 1984:

(1) How many word processors, stenographers and typists are employed in the Minister's Department.

(2) As of 1 September 1984, how many such staff have been, or are, off work with repetition strain injury or suspected repetition strain injury.


Senator Grimes —The Minister for Housing and Construction has provided the following answers to the honourable senator's questions:

(1) 61 word processing typists; 60 stenographers; 151 typists.

(2) As at 1 September 1984, 10 word processing typists, 11 stenographers and 18 typists were off work with repetition strain injury and 3 word processing typists, 8 stenographers and 8 typists were off work with suspected repetition strain injury.
