To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled. The Petition of the undersigned citizens of Australia respectfully shows:

That the recent failure of the Federal Parliament to disallow the Australian Capital Territory Classification of Publications Ordinance will contribute further to the erosion of moral standards in Australia. In particular, the Legislation increases the danger of the moral well-being of our children, by removing controls, at the point of production and importation of pornographic material.

Your petitioners therefore pray that the Australian Capital Territory Classification of Public Ordinance of 1983 will be repealed.

And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
