Senator MACKLIN —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate, noting a discrepancy in Queensland between published minimum Tertiary Entrance scores required for entry to many faculties and institutions and the actual cut off Tertiary Entrance score determined by the quote system and that the system disadvantages Queenslanders because of inadequate funding from the Commonwealth Tertiary Education Commission, requests the Government-

(a) to increase funding for Queensland so that year 12 students will have tertiary opportunities at least equalling those enjoyed by school leavers in other States; and

(b) to ensure that Queenslanders have equal rights with other Australians to undertake tertiary studies.
