That the Senate-

(a) notes that-

(i) the French Government continues to test nuclear bombs in the South Pacific against the expressed wishes of regional nations including Australia;

(ii) the French Government has not signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and transfers nuclear materials and technology necessary for nuclear bombs to other nations including non-signatories of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty; and

(iii) the French nuclear power industry has used, and is using, nuclear waste from so-called peaceful and civilian reactors for its nuclear bomb program; and

(b) calls on the Government to totally reject the economic blackmail being suggested by France and to ensure that Australia prohibits absolutely the export of uranium to France.
