Senator TOWNLEY —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate is of the opinion that-

(a) unless Australia supplies uranium to the world, there will be accelerated development of breeder reactors, which have as a by-product plutonium of almost weapons grade;

(b) such development is much less likely if the countries that rely on uranium as a major source of power can be guaranteed a continuous supply of uranium; and

(c) those people opposed to uranium mining are largely misinformed and are being manipulated by anti-groups for political reasons.
