Mr PERRETT (Moreton) (16:56): On behalf of the Standing Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs, I seek leave to make a statement on the Judicial Misbehaviour and Incapacity (Parliamentary Commissions) Bill 2012 and the Courts Legislation Amendment (Judicial Complaints) Bill 2012, in discharge of the committee's requirement to provide an advisory report on the bills, and to present a copy of my statement.

The DEPUTY SPEAKER ( Hon. BC Scott ): Is there any objection to leave being granted?

Mr Ruddock: Mr Deputy Speaker, I am inclined to withhold leave. I believe that this should be the subject of a substantial inquiry. I sought to be added to the committee. I have not been advised of any meetings that have considered the matter and I think that it is pre-emptory to deal with this matter until there has been proper consideration.

Leave not granted.
