Dr Southcott asked the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, in writing, on 26 June 2008:

In respect of phase 2 of the Productivity Places Program: (a) when will it commence for job seekers; (b) how many training places will be available for job seekers from this date in each State and Territory; and (c) when will it conclude for job seekers.


Ms Gillard (Minister for Education, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations and Minister for Social Inclusion) —The answer to the honourable member’s question is as follows:

(a)   Phase II of the Productivity Places Program for job seekers commenced on 1 July 2008.

(b)   There are 22,000 places available nationally for job seekers in Phase II.

(c)   Phase II of the program will conclude on 31 December 2008.
