Mr RIPOLL (3:17 PM) —Mr Speaker, I wish to make a personal explanation.

The SPEAKER —Does the member claim to have been misrepresented?

Mr RIPOLL —Most viciously.

The SPEAKER —Please proceed.

Mr RIPOLL —During the Prime Minister’s answer to my question regarding the excessive golden handshake payout for the Telstra boss, Sol Trujillo, the Prime Minister called me a hypocrite; it was a direct reference. I want to make it clear to the House that it is not possible for me to be a hypocrite on this matter as I have absolutely no capacity to in any way either influence or approve any handshake or payout to the Telstra boss—unlike the Prime Minister, who has the full capacity, if he chooses, to be a hypocrite on this matter.
