Mr WILKIE (3:20 PM) —Mr Speaker, I wish to make a personal explanation.

The SPEAKER —Does the member for Swan claim to have been misrepresented?

Mr WILKIE —Absolutely.

The SPEAKER —Please proceed.

Mr WILKIE —In question time today the Minister for Foreign Affairs made an assertion that Labor members of the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties were in some way forced to vote against the Australia-US free trade agreement by the Leader of the Opposition. I assume the minister is referring to the Labor members' dissenting report in report No. 61, tabled yesterday. As a member of this committee, I refute this outrageous allegation as it is absolutely false. The minister should apologise.
