Mr Martin Ferguson asked the Minister representing the Special Minister of State, upon notice, on 19 August 2003:

(1) What is the average sum spent by Members of the House of Representatives on personalized stationery and newsletters in the financial year 2002-2003.

(2) What was the average sum spent by (a) government, (b) opposition, and (c) independent and minor party Members.

Mr Abbott (Minister for Health and Ageing) —The Special Minster of State has supplied the following answer to the honourable member's question:

(1) $65,583.26.

(2) (a) $77,745.57

(b) $51,938.35

(c) $31,746.03
