Mr CREAN (2:10 PM) —My question is to the Prime Minister and I refer to my question to him yesterday regarding the granting of a visa for the two children he met on our recent trip to Bali. Given that the government has refused three visa applications for these children to visit their father, has the Prime Minister now had the opportunity to raise this matter with his minister for immigration as promised? Will the Prime Minister, in a special act of compassion, now allow these children to come to Australia and visit their father at the Baxter detention centre?

Mr HOWARD (Prime Minister) —In answer to the Leader of the Opposition, I inform him that I am still considering the matter.
