Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER (Mr Nehl) —Mr Speaker has received a letter from the honourable member for Burke (Mr O'Keefe) proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely:

The threat to primary industry and the jobs of thousands of Australians from the failure of the government to give proper consideration to quarantine issues as evidenced by the government's handling of the planned importation of cooked chicken meat in breach of its election commitments.

I call upon those members who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
