Mr RONALD EDWARDS —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That this House-

(1) expresses its concern at the-

(a) price cuts being enforced on the Pilbara iron ore producers, Hamersley Iron and Mount Newman by Japanese steel mills; and

(b) inaction by the previous Government on this crucial matter.

(2) supports the Western Australian Premier, Mr Brian Burke, in his negotiations with Japanese producers, and

(3) urges the Australian Government to provide active support to Australian mineral producers in their negotiations with the Japanese.
