   18   DISCUSSION OF MATTER OF PUBLIC IMPORTANCE— Announcements

The House was informed that Mr Burke had proposed that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely, “The gap between this government’s announcements and its delivery, and the impact on Australians”.

The proposed discussion having received the necessary support—

Mr Burke addressed the House.
