BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY IMPROVEMENT AMENDMENT (TRANSITION TO FAIR WORK) BILL 2009E ROAD TRANSPORT REFORM (DANGEROUS GOODS) REPEAL BILL 2009

Messages from the House of Representatives were reported transmitting for the concurrence of the Senate the following bills:

 Message no. 378, dated 13 August 2009—A Bill for an Act to amend the Building and Construction Industry Improvement Act 2005, and for related purposes.

 Message no. 377, dated 13 August 2009—A Bill for an Act to repeal the Road Transport Reform (Dangerous Goods) Act 1995, and for related purposes.

The Assistant Treasurer (Senator Sherry) moved—That these bills may proceed without formalities, may be taken together and be now read a first time.

Question put and passed.

Bills read a first time.

Senator Sherry moved—That these bills be now read a second time.

On the motion of Senator Sherry the debate was adjourned till the next day of sitting.
