Senator O'Brien, pursuant to notice of motion not objected to as a formal motion, moved general business notice of motion no. 499—That the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade be authorised to hold a public meeting during the sitting of the Senate on Thursday, 13 August 2009, from 10 am to 11.30 am, to take evidence for the committee's inquiry into human rights mechanisms and the Asia-Pacific.
