NATIONAL SECURITY LEGISLATION MONITOR BILL 2009E AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT (CITIZENSHIP TEST REVIEW AND OTHER MEASURES) BILL 2009E MIGRATION AMENDMENT (IMMIGRATION DETENTION REFORM) BILL 2009

The Minister for Climate Change and Water (Senator Wong), at the request of the Minister for Defence (Senator Faulkner) and the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship (Senator Evans) and pursuant to notices of motion not objected to as formal motions, moved government business notices of motion nos 1 to 3—That the following bills be introduced:

 A Bill for an Act to provide for the appointment of a National Security Legislation Monitor, and for related purposes.

 A Bill for an Act to amend the Australian Citizenship Act 2007, and for related purposes.

 A Bill for an Act to amend the Migration Act 1958, and for related purposes.

Senator Wong presented the bills and moved—That these bills may proceed without formalities, may be taken together and be now read a first time.
