The following 5 petitions, lodged with the Clerk by the Senators

indicated, were received:

Senator Bell, from 20 petitioners requesting that the Senate endorse

the December 1995 deadline established by the London Dumping

Convention to end the dumping of jarosite at sea.

Senator Campbell, from 11 petitioners requesting that the Senate

oppose any proposals to treat unrealised capital gains and losses on

listed securities as income under the Social Security and Veterans'

Entitlements Acts.

Senator Crichton-Browne, from 14 petitioners requesting that the

Senate ensure that a referendum is held to overrule the High Court's

Mabo decision and re-establish equal land rights for all Australians.

Senator Crichton-Browne, from 144 petitioners objecting to the

proposed Federal Government national accreditation system for child

care centres in Australia.

Senator O'Chee, from 37 petitioners requesting that Australia remain a

constitutional monarchy with Her Majesty the Queen of Australia as

Head of State.
