Senator WONG (South AustraliaMinister for Finance and Deregulation) (21:24): I think it would be normal to consult reasonably widely on something like this. The important point is whatever consultation with whomever occurs. There are times, Senator, when we consult with members of your side on appointments. As finance minister, I know that you get to sign off as the co-signatory on a number of appointments. So that is done on occasion. What I can say is that the appointment is a decision for the minister, and generally such appointments would be the subject of the normal cabinet process.
