Senator IAN MACDONALD (Minister for Fisheries, Forestry and Conservation) (1:58 PM) —The government also opposes the Democrat amendment. It is something we did look at; it is restricted to closer family. We think the amendment would undermine the effectiveness of the proposal. In any case, if a person does not intend to support the expansion or existence of a terrorist organisation they will not be guilty of any offence.
