To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled. We the undersigned citizens of Australia respectfully showeth:

that any decision by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation to reduce the local content of the programme, the ``Country Hour'', would represent yet another severe blow to Western Australian rural people;

that even under current programming Western Australian country people receive little locally produced radio, and

in view of the inefficiencies in the operations of the ABC disclosed by the Auditor-General, your petitioners call upon the Government to improve the efficient operation of the ABC before it reduces the local content of important rural programmes such as the Country Hour.

Your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
