Senator ARCHER(12.18) —So that we maintain the relevance, may I direct the Minister to clause 25 of the memorandum of understanding:

In respect of domestic timber operations, i.e., extractive timber operations which are not Forest Operations, the MPI acknowledges that it will be for the State to decide the extent to which it would implement Commonwealth views on the protection of National Estate values.

Does the Minister's copy from which he reads have that clause in it? Does he understand what domestic logging is and that the purpose of the exercise in Tasmania is domestic logging?

Senator Gietzelt —Yes, I do.
